Developments in the Middle East: Iran issued a NOTAM for aircraft to change their routes

“We will punish Israel but we do not want a general war” – Iran issues NOTAM for the center, west and north-west of the country

Iran issued a NOTAM (notice of aircraft operations) for aircraft to change their routes some time ago.

In particular, according to the Jerusalem Post, Iran issued a NOTAM for the center, west and northwest of the country, advising planes to change their routes.

This development comes a few days after the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniya in Tehran. Iran blames Israel for the assassination and these promises.

The fear of a general conflict between Israel and Iran and its allies in the region is increasing.

At the same time, on Monday morning a spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry said that Iran does not want to increase regional tensions but believes that it must punish Israel to prevent further destabilization.

“Iran wants to establish stability in the region, but this will only happen by punishing the aggressor and the measures against the fate of the Zionists,” said Nasser Kanaani, according to which Tehran’s action is inevitable.

An Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman also called on the US to stop supporting Israel, saying the international community has failed in its duty to protect stability in the region and should support to “punish the attacker”.

For his part, the head of the Revolutionary Guards, Hussein Salami, repeated the threat against Israel “that he will be punished in time.”
