The occasion making the thief, the Mintp, during the meeting, proposed a certain number of sites to its hosts. ” The municipal road network is [l’un des plus importants chantiers routiers, Ndlr] in Cameroon is the most degraded. He stays in the ground. Project management is ensured by the mayors who, for many years, have already benefited from the support of the Ministry of Public Works within the framework of the decentralization policy. However, to truly impact and reverse the perception of the populations, I would like to propose the development of 1000 kilometers of communal dirt road as a pilot project through the stabilization technique within the substitution of bitumen for these purposes, Cameroon could accommodate a manufacturing plant for innovative road development products said Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi.

In addition, the Mintp suggests to French investors the rehabilitation, construction and maintenance of National 3, [Yaoundé – Douala –Idenau] ; the rehabilitation of the N’GaoundéréGaroua road and the construction of metal bridges. The French delegation led by Éric Tchouvenel, director of international development at Razel Bec, was made up of eleven French companies, some of which are already working in Cameroon, such as Razel, Sogea Satom, Egis or Matières.

Road and motorway infrastructures occupy a central place in the development of Cameroon, through industrialization and the improvement of production. To do this, the country’s ambition is, it is said, to offer a competitive road and motorway network, focused on opening up to the countries of the Central African sub-region and neighboring countries on the one hand and densification of service roads of Agro-industrial and port basins, on the other hand. Thus, with the assistance of donors, Cameroon has embarked on the development of its road network, with the densification and modernization of recent years, with the objective of asphalting 6,000 kilometers of new roads, rehabilitating 3000 kilometers of paved roads and to permanently maintain the entire road network over the period 2020-2030.

It should be recalled that several projects have already been carried out or are in the process of being carried out in Cameroon with the support of French companies or financing: the construction of the Garoua-Boulaï Nandeke road, 86 km; construction of the Nandeke-Mbere road: 82 km; the construction of the second bridge over the Wouri in Douala; development of the western and eastern entrances (phase I) of the city of Douala; the construction of the BatchengaNtui road, including a 400 linear meter bridge over the Sanaga River in Natchigal financed by AFD; the construction of the Léna-Tibati-Ngatt road with a length of 165 km on National 15; the construction of the Olama-Bingambo road with a length of 106 km; the ongoing construction of the bridge over the Logone River between Yagoua in Cameroon and Bongor in Chad and its accesses and the construction started of 14 automatic toll booths on several roads including National 3 which carries almost all transport and transit in the CEMAC sub-region. Exchanges with French companies will continue in the days to come, to undoubtedly lead to the realization of road projects.
