On the other hand, the author of the cinema-village idea, film director Ivars Zviedris points out: “That Liepupe is very diverse. In the sense that, starting with a five-star hotel, ending with Soviet-era kolkhoz workshops, and in between, there are just as many different people, very subtle and very simple people. For a film tour, all of these things are very beneficial.”
The deputy director of the Liepupe elementary school is still thinking about the investment in the development of the cinema village, but she can say that the pupils of the parish are very interested in filming.
“They edited these short films here, they won and in June they invited us to the office of “Kino Bize”, there was an award ceremony,” says Ira Janiša, deputy principal of Liepupe elementary school.

Cinema-village author Ivars Zviedris also has high hopes for the local school. Already in the next school year, a film club will be formed here. Later, in Liepupė, everyone will be able to learn the basics of cinema, exactly how films are made in practice.
“Now, young aspirants often graduate from film school, and they know a lot technically and theoretically, but when someone spits in their face, they can’t do anything anymore,” says the Swede.
There has already been a residents’ meeting in a local store where the development plan for the cinema-village was discussed. The shop has an idea to sell cinema salad to tourists. All that remains is to come up with a recipe.
Sandra, the shop assistant, can say that the local residents would like to welcome someone who would move the people of Liepupes parish.
“People were interested, but nothing more happened, but people were interested. One person needs to start and then the others will follow along,” says saleswoman Sandra.
