The president of the movement met with Makhtar Diop, director general of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), to discuss ways to strengthen relations between Gabon and the institution.
During this exchange, the Gabonese president and the CEO of the IFC discussed in particular the implementation of structural projects. And the depth of cooperation between Gabon and the financial institution, which is already active in several projects, including the production of palm oil on 63,000 hectares. This project, supported by the World Bank, is the first of its kind since 2011.
IFC’s initiatives in Gabon also include hydroelectricity production and water supply projects, which aim to reduce the electricity deficit and promote growth in the region. The company also plans to collaborate with Setrag in the rail sector to improve the movement of goods.
Finally, the IFC wants to strengthen its presence on the ground by working closely with the Gabonese authorities, local businesses and foreign investors.
