Clara de Souza, director of operations for Burkina, Mali, Niger and Chad for the World Bank, was received on January 15, 2024 by the Prime Minister.
The director of operations came to present to the Burkinabe authorities the new resident representative of the World Bank in Burkina Faso. This is Hamoud Abdel Wedoud kamil
It was an opportunity for Ms. de Souza to take stock of cooperation between the World Bank and Faso. An excellent cooperative according to her. The portfolio is made up of 21 projects for a budget of $3.6 billion. The new resident representative will have the mission of strengthening this cooperation as part of the fight to reduce poverty.

Hamoud Abdel Wedoud Kamil (Wedoud) is the new Resident Representative
of the World Bank in Burkina Faso. He will take office on February 4, 2024.
A Mauritanian national, Wedoud joined the World Bank in January
2009 as Senior Education Specialist for Ivory Coast.
He also coordinated and led the preparation and implementation of projects
for educaon and employment in Gabon, Senegal, Mauritania, Burkina Faso
and in Burundi.
Wedoud has extensive experience in the development sector
human. Before joining the World Bank, he worked within the Ministry
of the Mauritania plan as Director of Education-Training projects.
He is youtular of a third cycle in evaluation of educational systems
the University of Burgundy (France)
