Developers and Local Leaders Laying the First Stone of the Coachella Valley Arena

Construction of what will be an entertainment complex near Palm Desert officially began this Wednesday.

With the presence of the famous rock guitarist Joe Walsh of the group the Eagles, the start of the official construction of the Coachella Valley Arena was celebrated.

Local leaders and representatives of the project marked the day with the traditional shovel.

The new arena is a collaboration between the Oak View entertainment company and the Seattle Kraken hockey team. The concept is priced at $ 300 million and will be financed by the private sector Supervisor Manuel Pérez says the live entertainment center will energize the Coachella Valley.

“I am very happy to be here today, we have finally reached this point,” said Perez.

The arena will be built on 43 acres in an incorporated area of Riverside County off Highway 10.

In the state-of-the-art venue there will be concerts, sporting events, and will be the headquarters of the hockey team, the Seattle Kraken. The play will have a capacity for 11,000 spectators. Supervisor Pérez points out that the sand will have positive impacts in terms of the economy.

“It’s going to create $ 11 million for us each year here in Riverside County,” Perez said.

Apart from the millionaire earnings, 1,400 jobs are projected to be created.

“It will help us a lot with what is necessary to start the economy again again, after this pandemic affected us quite negatively economically,” said Perez.

The new arena is expected to attract the attention of world-class talent. The opening is scheduled for October 2022.

“Well, we are missing this project here and many more that we are going to advocate and bring many more to Riverside County,” concluded Perez.

One of the great goals of those who lead the arena is to revive hockey in the Coachella Valley. It is estimated that the sand will generate more than $ 3 trillion for the communities around the next 49 years.
