Blizzard developer calls Asmongold “a hole”
Asmongold is responding to a Blizzard developer calling him an “asshole” on Twitter as he continues to play Final Fantasy XIV Online.
Asmongold is one of the biggest World of Warcraft streamers on Twitch. However, he recently decided to try Final Fantasy XIV Online, another popular game in the MMO genre. This decision was met with much praise, but also controversy.
Some people, like small streamer XylariaVG, are outright against Asmongold playing FFXIV Online because they don’t want their community to get involved in the game they love. He said in a Tweet that “Asmongold’s kind of hate and rudeness is not welcome in FFXIV.”
In response to this tweet, Adam Holisky, Senior Manager of Data Platforms and Products at Blizzard Entertainment, said: “This guy is an idiot. In reference to Asmongold.
The answer has since been deleted, but that hasn’t stopped people from grabbing it and bringing it to Asmongold’s attention, as well as putting it on the front page of LivestreamFail.
Asmongold replied to the Tweet by saying, “I don’t care, I talk about them all the time lol. Explaining further, ‘I’m a big guy, I can handle it, I don’t need people harassing them to defend my honour.'”
People keep linking to photos of Blizz employees talking about me. I’m not sorry. I talk about them all the time. LOL. I’m a big boy. I can do it.
Since then, Asmongold has been off to a flying start for the second day in a row playing FFXIV Online, once again proving that he won’t let himself get in the way.
While Asmongold doesn’t seem to mind, it still doesn’t seem very nice for a Blizzard employee to call someone who plays their games an “asshole.”
Blizzard has not yet released an official statement on the matter.
