Devastating Storm Hits Kula: Rebuilding and Recovery in the Aftermath

Yesterday, Meteo Balkans warned of an impending storm in northwestern Bulgaria, which came with destructive force and brought devastation. Today, after the horror of last night was over, the light of day revealed the horrific damage that the residents of the town of Kula will have to deal with, possibly alone.

One of the strongest storms to hit the region hit the Tower with unique ferocity. Wind speeds reached an extraordinary 120 km/h, creating chaos and destruction everywhere in its path. Falling rains and hail added to the destruction, leaving the city in dire straits.

The first and most visibly devastated are the roofs of the houses. The force of the hail left huge holes in the roofs of many buildings, leaving their residents exposed to the elements. Families in Kula now face the challenge of repairing this damage.

Huge trees were broken or completely uprooted by the force of the wind, turning roads and streets into impassable areas. Some of these trees fell on residential buildings, causing even more damage and danger to local residents.

As a result of the strong winds, numerous electrical wires were snapped, resulting in power outages throughout the city. This problem is of particular importance because without electricity, the affected families face enormous difficulties in their daily lives and difficulties in communication.

Entire terraces of residential buildings were torn away by the elements, turning into literal hanging traps. There are risks of further destruction and safety hazards to people while the buildings are being repaired.

Public buildings were also damaged. The buildings of the municipality, the community center, the museum and the fortress were also badly damaged by the elements. This makes it difficult to organize aid and urgently rebuild the infrastructure.

As rebuilding begins, the residents of Kula face enormous challenges. It will take time and effort for them to restore the normal order of things and return to their normal lives. At this moment, it is important that the state and the community as a whole unite and assist the victims by providing them with the necessary help and support.

There is damage all over the country. Fallen trees and interrupted power supply were also reported in Lom, Razgrad, Stara Zagora, Sevlievo.

This tragic incident reminds us of the overwhelming power of nature and the importance of preparing for disasters of this type. We hope that public and government institutions will learn their lessons, at least this time, from this event and take further steps to improve measures to prevent and respond to natural disasters.

Now that the horror is gone, the true power of community and people will be shown in dealing with the aftermath and rebuilding this gracious city. Only through joint efforts and solidarity can we create a more resilient society, ready to face future challenges.
