Mohieddin Ramadan, Director of Media at the National Meteorological Center in Libya, said that Hurricane Daniel caused the collapse of two dams, which had been in need of comprehensive maintenance operations for several years, which increased the scale of the crisis.

“Ramadan” added in a phone call to the “DMC Evening” program, which is broadcast on the “DMC” channel: “The weather is currently stable in terms of weather, but what increased the severity of the hurricane’s effects is the sea deluge that poured heavily on populated areas.”

He continued: “We are trying to recover the bodies, but the situation is still catastrophic, and there are huge amounts of water in the dams, and we need months to get out of this major crisis.”

Mohieddin Ramadan explained that the storm gradually moved towards the east of Libya and heavy rain fell, indicating that there was a tracking and monitoring process for it, but what happened was a surprise.
