By the end of 2024, Deutsche Bahn wants to fill 30 percent of its management positions with women. They have now been awarded for this.
The most women-friendly company of the year is Deutsche Bahn. The Frauen-Karriere-Index (FKI) also honored the consulting firm Accenture, the computer manufacturer Hewlett-Packard and the Berliner Wasserbetriebe on Thursday. The companies had “made a special contribution to diversity and inclusion projects, both nationally and internationally”, as FKI acknowledged on Thursday.
By the end of 2024, Deutsche Bahn wants to fill 30 percent of its management positions with women. The measures to achieve this goal are “already showing their effect,” explained personnel manager Martin Seiler. He called the award a “really stunning result”. The group is striving for equal participation in the long term.
Award given for the eleventh time
Family Minister Lisa Paus (Greens) praised the index: It enables industry comparisons, nationally and internationally, and thus sets standards. “Companies that take part in the index are in turn empowering women in leadership.” Promoting women’s careers is firstly a question of justice and secondly it has long since paid off economically for many companies.
The award was presented for the eleventh time. The founder of the FKI, Barbara Lutz, explained: “Companies that have firmly implemented diversity in their transformation process do not abandon their plans in times of crisis.” Such companies are “long-term and sustainable” successful.
