Partly good news in the collective bargaining dispute of the EVG: The planned 50-hour strike on the railways has been canceled.
Deutsche Bahn and the union agreed on a settlement on Saturday. The railway had previously submitted an urgent application to the Frankfurt labor court. How exactly the comparison looks like is still unclear, but:
“Part of the settlement is that the parties have agreed to negotiate quickly and constructively with the aim of reaching a conclusion as soon as possible. The minimum wage issue is also part of the settlement and is recognized by both parties as a solution,” said Deutsche Bahn in one Opinion.
Nevertheless, problems with the train are possible
Nevertheless, the railway still expects traffic to be disrupted, because around 50,000 canceled trips would first have to be rescheduled, as well as the associated shift and deployment plans.
OVF buses are still on strike
The strike cancellation only applies to the train. This means that some buses will still be canceled in Mainfranken. The EVG has called on the bus drivers of Omnibusverkehr Franken (OVF) to go on strike. This means that isolated lines in the districts of Würzburg, Kitzingen and Main-Spessart will be eliminated. No buses are affected in the city of Würzburg.
