After just over two months, the Detroit Pistons won a game in the NBA again. On Saturday night, the bottom of the Eastern Conference hosted the Toronto Raptors at Little Caesars Arena and triumphed 129 to 127. The result was a huge relief for the Pistons. In addition to interrupting an incredible 28-game losing streak – the longest in NBA history – Detroit also escaped equaling the longest losing streak in the history of professional sports in the United States.

The negative mark belongs to the Chicago Cardinals, who lost 29 consecutive times in the NFL between 1942 and 1945. The Pistons’ last victory was on October 28th – 118 to 102 over the Chicago Bulls. With a poor campaign, Detroit has only three wins in 32 games played this season.
The highlight of the night was Cade Cunningham, the Pistons’ scorer with 30 points – he also gave 12 assists, finishing the game with a double-double. For the Raptors, Pascal Siakam scored 35 times.
Other luxury supporting players in the home team’s triumph were: Jalen Duren (18 points and 17 rebounds), Bojan Bogdanovic (19 points), Kevin Knox II (17 points) and Alec Burks (16 points).
The Detroit Pistons’ next opponent is the Houston Rockets, Monday, January 1st, at 10pm, again in Detroit.
