Detroit Become Human: Fourth planned protagonist caused internal controversy

According to the usually well-informed insider Tom Henderson, the interactive thriller “Detroit: Become Human” was originally supposed to have a fourth protagonist. However, this was rejected by Sony Interactive Entertainment and caused a lot of internal discussion, the insider continued.

More than two years have passed since the release of “Detroit: Become Human” and the developers responsible for Quantic Dream have long been busy with new projects.

Amongst these should be among other things a “Star Wars” adventure which has not yet been officially confirmed. The same applies to the statements of the industry insider Tom Henderson, who is considered a reliable source, who reports that “Detroit: Become Human” was originally supposed to come up with a fourth protagonist. But why was this plan not put into practice?

Did a revealing Android cause internal controversy?

As Henderson pointed out, the fourth main character of “Detroit: Become Human” should be dealing with a blonde android with large breasts who works as a prostitute. A character draft that apparently did not appeal to those responsible at Sony Interactive Entertainment. Quite the opposite: According to Henderson, the said android is said to have caused a stir internally.

Accordingly, Sony Interactive Entertainment not only rejected the character draft. At the same time, after the heated discussions about the character, the company is said to have wanted to release “Detroit: Become Human” as soon as possible in order to secure the deal with Quantic Dream, which consists of the three games “Heavy Rain”, “Beyond: Two Souls ”and“ Detroit: Become Human ”put together.

A development that, according to Henderson, may have led to work on a fourth joint project, which among other things focused on a more open world, was discontinued. Since so far neither Sony Interactive Entertainment nor Quantic Dream have wanted to comment on Tom Henderson’s information, these should of course be taken with the necessary caution for the time being.
