Deterioration can be expected, Prymula said of the pandemic in Prague. There is a threat of veils in the classrooms – ČT24 – Czech Television

Prague is currently contributing to a nationwide increase in the number of those infected by about a quarter, and there is no indication that the situation could change significantly – Prague and national numbers every day are in the range that would have been unimaginable a month or two ago. However, the measures, which hygienists promise to slow down the spread of the disease, will not take effect until next Wednesday.

Prague Councilor for Education Vít Šimral (Pirates) is convinced that hygienists know what they are doing. “There must be a slow start in order for citizens to get used to it,” he stressed, alluding to the criticism faced by Ostrava hygienists when they introduced measures in the Moravian-Silesian Region – including the introduction of drapes or restrictions on mass events – without immediate warning.

The fact that this time almost a week elapses from the announcement of the measure until its entry into force, attributes to the fact that the hygienists, especially the head of the city station Zdeňka Jágrová, have detailed data that they can follow. “I have full confidence that Dr. Jagr knows what she is doing. He can calculate how many days we still have to not miss something, “said Šimral.

According to Roman Prymula, the government’s health commissioner and member of the government’s health risks council, the five-day deadline is the result of negotiations. “There were agreements and negotiations with the Ministry of Education. It is on the basis of consensus with all involved, that the system can be started, so that there is no problem with drapes, “he said.

Prymula admitted that he expects the situation to deteriorate further – also because, according to him, the return of children to school has not yet been reflected in the numbers, which could change next week. “If the situation worsens, and it can be assumed that yes ((), the whole system would tighten. It can be assumed that the regulation of veils would be for pupils in the classroom as well, “he announced.

Closing at night bars is a radical but logical step, says the councilor

The measures that will come into force in Prague concern both drapes – these will be mandatory in shops and also in schools outside the classroom – but also nightclubs or bars. They will have to close at midnight from Wednesday. Vít Šimral admitted that this is a “logical step”, given that the covid-19 disease often spreads in bars, but he also described it as a “radical step”. He pointed out that the effects of the pandemic are already overwhelming.

“Only in the territory of Prague will they count – depending on which model you choose – from tens to hundreds of billions of crowns. The sectors most affected by tourism will be the most affected, “he pointed out.

Roman Prymula, who played a key role as deputy health care during the spring phase of the pandemic, said he saw the current surge in infection as a result of over-releasing the original restrictions. “Absolutely elemantic rules were not followed here, the measures relaxed into a form where they ceased to have any effect on the virus. Epidemiology works, “he stated.

You too, Hodonin?

So far, measures beyond the national wearing of drapes in public transport or at offices only apply to Prague, where respiratory protection is already mandatory at railway stations or in metro lobbies, and the introduction of obligations in shops is being prepared. But it may not stay that way.

In Prague, the growth of the relative number of patients per hundred thousand inhabitants is not the highest – that is in the Hodonín region. According to the mayor of Kyjov and the chairman of the Union of Towns and Municipalities, František Lukl, the crisis staff will act, which could lead to an extension of the obligation to wear veils or, for example, the abolition of public transport fares and a ban on boarding buses through the front door.

But Lukl complained that communal politicians still did not have all the detailed information they had promised from the state. “We do not have complete and up-to-date information on the status of the infected and the onset curve. From next week, we will receive them from the Institute for Health Information, “he said, adding that he has to apply for them in accordance with the Act on Free Access to Information.

Roman Prymula does not expect a major improvement before the end of the year. As before, the Minister of Health Adam Vojtěch (for YES) also indicated that the veils will remain mandatory at least until the winter. “We have to persevere until the vaccine is here before the population declines. I don’t think it will be postponed until Christmas, I think it will be at the beginning of next year, “he said.
