Alexandria – Muhammad Amer and Muhammad Al-Badri:
Today, Wednesday, a judge in the Montazah District Misdemeanor Court in Alexandria decided to renew the detention of the owner of the 14th floor and the contractor responsible for building the top of the collapsed Sidi Bishr property for 15 days, pending investigations.
The Montazah Prosecution Office was the first of the college under the supervision of Counselor Mahmoud Auf, the first public attorney for the Montazah Prosecution Office. Three counts were charged against the aforementioned defendants, including murder, wrongful injury, and violating construction.
Investigations revealed that the first accused, named “Hani J.”, sought the help of the second accused and started construction work without a permit on the 14th floor, which prompted the residents to submit complaints against him to the first district of Al-Montazah, which issued a removal decision that was not implemented.
The Public Prosecution heard the residents of the property and eyewitnesses, who confirmed that the violating construction work on the 14th floor was the reason for its collapse, and indicated that a sudden collision was heard, so that the property was split into two halves.
Today, the Civil Protection Forces in Alexandria, supported by equipment and cranes, continue their efforts to remove the rubble of the collapsed property and search for victims, for the third day in a row.
The total number of victims rose to 10 bodies and 4 injured so far, and the bodies were transferred to the morgues of “Abu Qir General, Sadr Al-Mamoura, and East of the City” hospitals, while the injured were discharged from the hospital after receiving the necessary treatment.
