“Detecting Early Signs of Pancreatic Cancer: 6 Warning Symptoms to Look Out For”

Detecting signs of cancer early contributes to a speedy recovery and skipping the dangerous stage, but it is worrying that pancreatic cancer does not usually cause initial symptoms, and between 80 to 90% of patients may be diagnosed at a late stage when the disease is already advanced.

Dr Deborah Lee, of Dr. Fox’s online pharmacy, said: “Despite these statistics, there are some symptoms that suggest pancreatic cancer,” according to the British newspaper “express”.

She continued, “Studies show that 25% of patients experience symptoms in the upper abdomen in the six months prior to a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, and another 15% have symptoms even earlier.”

There are 6 warning signs that can appear in the ‘months’ prior to diagnosis, including:

convulsions

Diarrhea

holding

Changes in bowel movements

bloating

nausea.

“It is interesting that abdominal pain occurs early in the disease, depending on the exact location of the cancerous tumour,” she explained.

She added: “The pain can spread from the upper abdomen to the back, for example, if the tumor is pressing on the spine. Pancreatic cancer also causes pain if it is pressing on other organs or nerves.”

In a third of patients, the pain is said to be mild to moderate, and in another third it is severe, may be intermittent and is often made worse by eating and drinking, especially fatty foods, and lying down, and improved by bending forward.

While these symptoms indicate a fatal condition, they do not guarantee that you will have cancer, because they are similar to irritable bowel syndrome and are often confused with irritable bowel syndrome.

So it is best to consult a doctor about any new and unusual changes to rule out any serious problems.
