Last weekend it became known of the latest arrest of Cuban reggaeton singer Luis Javier Prieto Cedeño, better known as JakartaNow, there are more details about the illegal activities that the singer was carrying out at the time of his arrest.
According to the media Telemundo 51, the reggaeton singer was arrested in a room at the Even Hotel, along with three women. He would have rented the room with stolen credit card information, which caught the attention of the owner.
According to the aforementioned media, the owner contacted the police to report that someone had charged his card to rent a room at the aforementioned hotel, so the authorities went to said room during the night of Saturday.
At the scene they found Jakarta with the three women. The officers carried out a quick search and found several credit cards, false identification documents and accounting books, so all those involved were arrested.
Authorities accused the group of using the fake cards and documents to conduct fraudulent activities, leading to several charges being added against them.
The women detained along with the urban music singer were identified as Rachel Infiesta, Juliette Ghessi and Sahara Ortega, who now also face accusations of theft and possession of false identifications.
It is important to remember that this is far from being the reggaeton singer’s first encounter with United States law, as in April 2023 he was arrested on charges of property theft, while in 2019 he was arrested for alleged accusations of domestic violence in Boca Mouse.
The singer became famous on the Island thanks to his music, being part of the popular duo Chacal and Jakarta, but after their separation in 2016, he traveled to Miami, where he was no longer heard of except for his multiple arrests.
