Four banks have reduced limits on cash withdrawals outside Egypt since the beginning of this month, which has led to increased pressure on the currency.
Egyptian banks, the National Bank of Egypt, Commercial International CIB and SAIB Bank decided to reduce the cash withdrawal limits by a rate between 50% and over 90%, while the decisions of the banks varied between keeping the purchase limits unchanged or approving a small reduction.
Banks have unanimously agreed in the last period to choose to reduce cash withdrawal and purchase limits outside Egypt using credit, debit and credit cards, subject to the established rate or fees and to do not modify it.

National Bank of Egypt
The classic card
Maximum cash withdrawal: the equivalent of £ 10,000 per day, with no more than £ 20,000 per month in foreign currency.
Maximum purchases: the equivalent of £ 50,000 per day in foreign currency.
The gold card
Maximum cash withdrawal: the equivalent of £ 15,000 per day, with no more than £ 30,000 per month in foreign currency.
Maximum purchases: the equivalent of £ 100,000 per day in foreign currency.
Platinum Card (Master Card)
Maximum cash withdrawal: the equivalent of £ 25,000 per day, with no more than £ 40,000 per month in foreign currency.
Maximum purchases: the equivalent of £ 250,000 per day in foreign currency.
Platinum Card (Visa)
Maximum cash withdrawal: the equivalent of £ 25,000 per day, with no more than £ 40,000 per month in foreign currency.
Maximum purchases: the equivalent of £ 300,000 per day in foreign currency.
– World Card (MasterCard)
Maximum cash withdrawal: the equivalent of £ 37,000 per day, with no more than £ 50,000 per month in foreign currency
Maximum purchases: the equivalent of £ 400,000 per day in foreign currency.
– World Elite Card (MasterCard)
Maximum cash withdrawal: the equivalent of £ 50,000 per day, with no more than £ 50,000 per month in foreign currency.
Maximum purchases: the equivalent of £ 500,000 per day in foreign currency.
International Commercial Bank
– Prime, Youth, Prime me Loan cards: the monthly limit for cash withdrawals is £ 5,000 and for purchases from merchants or on the Internet it is £ 20,000.
Plus Titanium Card: The monthly limit for cash withdrawals is £ 10,000 and for purchases from merchants or on the Internet it is £ 50,000.
Wealth Card: Platinum The monthly limit for cash withdrawals is £ 20,000 and for purchases from merchants or on the Internet it is £ 100,000.
Visa Business Platinum Card: The monthly limit for cash withdrawals is equivalent to £ 30,000 and for purchases from merchants or on the Internet it is equivalent to £ 200,000.
Bank of Egypt
Visa and MasterCard (Classic): Limits for cash withdrawals outside Egypt (ATMs and POS) dropped to the equivalent of $ 500 per month instead of $ 5,000, while purchases amounted to $ 9,000 per month, instead of $ 18,000 per month.
Gold Card: ATM-POS cash withdrawal limits are only $ 500 per month instead of $ 5,000, while purchase limits are $ 9,000 instead of $ 18,000 per month.
Platinum Card: The limits for cash withdrawals outside Egypt (ATM-POS) are equal to only 750 dollars per month instead of 10 thousand dollars, while the limits on purchases are equal to 12 thousand dollars and 500 dollars per month instead of 25 thousand dollars per month .
– Titanium Card: – Limits for cash withdrawals outside Egypt (ATM-POS) equal to 750 dollars per month, while the limits for purchases are 12 thousand dollars and 500 dollars per month.
– World Card, World Elite: Cash withdrawal limits are equivalent to $ 1,500 per month and the purchase limit does not exceed the equivalent of $ 25,000 per month.
Bank SAIB:
Classic Card: The daily cash withdrawal limit is $ 50, with no more than $ 100 per month, while the maximum purchase amount is $ 250 per day, with no more than $ 1,000 per month.
Titanium Card: The daily cash withdrawal limit is $ 150, with no more than $ 300 per month, while the maximum purchase amount is $ 1,000 per day, with no more than $ 2,500 per month.
The Platinum Card: The daily cash withdrawal limit is $ 300, with no more than $ 600 per month, while the maximum purchase limit is $ 2,000 per day, with no more than $ 3,000 per month.
The World Elite Card: The daily cash withdrawal limit is $ 500, with no more than $ 1,000 per month, while the maximum purchase limit is $ 4,000 per day, with no more than $ 10,000 per month.
