Al-Marsad Newspaper: A court in the west of the Kingdom issued a two-year prison sentence for a lawyer, after convicting him of seizing documents, cheques, bills of exchange, bonds, commercial licenses and bonds, which caused financial losses to his client, a “businessman”.
According to “Okaz” newspaper, the court considered the lawyer’s behavior a form of betrayal of the trust entrusted to him and an act forbidden by Sharia and punishable by law, and decided to intensify the sentence against him, as he is one of the trustees entrusted with preserving and maintaining people’s rights.
A businessman submitted a lawsuit to the court accusing a lawyer of turning against him and refusing to return a set of important documents, instruments, checks and promissory notes, which incurred financial losses of about 65 million riyals, in addition to missing out on a commercial benefit that was expected to generate huge profits, according to what was stated in his lawsuit.
