Princess Azemah Bolkiah, the daughter of the Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah, has just given birth royal wedding for nine days. This wedding event was held from 8 January to 16 January 2023 at the Nurul Iman Palace, Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam.

Interestingly, Princess Azemah Bolkiah is married to her own cousin, namely Prince Muda Bahar who is the son of Prince Jefri Bolkiah or the youngest brother of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah.

Dress during the Anointing Ceremony

On January 11, 2023, Putri Azemah Bolkiah performed an anointing ceremony before the marriage ceremony. This royal anointing ceremony is known as the Royal Bride Powdering Ceremony.

At this royal anointing ceremony, Princess Azemah Bolkiah wore traditional clothes dominated by red. Apart from that, Princess Azemah Bolkiah also wore gold jewelry, starting from a crown, earrings and large bracelets.

Right at her waist, Princess Azemah Bolkiah is seen wearing a belt with gold detailing as a tie for the songket cloth typical of Brunei Darussalam which is also dominated by red with floral motifs.

This brightly colored and glamorous traditional dress blends perfectly with makeup Azemah Bolkiah’s pretty daughter bold, especially in the eye. The red color of the lips made all eyes fall on her beauty.

Royal officials were seen taking turns applying colored powder and essential oil to the forehead of the bride-to-be, then continuing on to the groom-to-be. Not only that, in this ceremonial procession there is also a ritual of lighting four candles.
