Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Artificial Intelligence Technology have developed a sophisticated method that identifies people infected with the emerging coronavirus through coughing.
The device is able to recognize patients without apparent symptoms only when coughing, as it relies on identifying the delicate neural networks that distinguish between the usual coughing sound and the emerging coronavirus.
These neural networks work to distinguish small changes in the voice, depending on the artificial intelligence consisting of accurate algorithms that notice the deterioration of the respiratory system and give a report on the individual’s health status through a separate third network.
The new feature was tested on many people and their cough was examined, which proved the system’s ability to identify 98% of Corona patients with certainty, while the system identified 100% of patients without symptoms.
Work is underway to develop an electronic application to easily check a person’s daily cough.
