JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Government through the Ministry of Transportation ( Ministry of Transportation) issued a new stimulus for the aviation industry. However, the stimulus only took effect at 13 airport just certain.
As for the stimulus provided by the government, namely, bearing the tariff for Aircraft Passenger Services (PJP2U) or Passenger Service Charge ( PSC) at 13 Indonesian airports.
PJP2U stimulus which is also known as airport tax This will be given to all passengers who purchased tickets in the period 23 October to 31 December 2020 with a departure date before 1 January 2021.
Director General of Air Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Novie Riyanto said this stimulus was issued in order to increase tourism in Indonesia. On that basis, not all airports will get this incentive.

“So in the beginning this was alladdress into tourism. I also answered why Surabaya was not included, because this is once again being addressed for tourism. So that there is no wrong address, “said Novie in his official statement as quoted on Saturday (24/10/2020).
The following is a list of 13 airports with government discounted airfare:
- Airport Soekarno-Hatta (CGK)
- Hang Nadim Airport (BTH)
- Medan Kualanamu Airport (KNO)
- I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Denpasar (DPS)
- International Yogyakarta Kulon Progo (YIA)
- Halim Perdanakusuma Jakarta (HLP)
- Lombok Praya International Airport (LOP)
- General Ahmad Yani Semarang (SRG)
- Manado Sam Ratulangi Airport (MDC)
- Komodo Labuan Bajo Airport (LBJ)
- Silangit Airport (DTB)
- Banyuwangi Airport (BWX)
- Adi Sucipto Airport (JOG)

Novie explained, initially this stimulus would be budgeted for by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. This is because this stimulus is a form of government support for the tourism sector during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Actually, this budget was initially allocated to the Ministry of Tourism, so that we cannot be separated from the tourist attractions that were originally intended to be given a stimulus,” said Novie.
Novie also believes that there are incentives airport tax this could boost the tourism sector in the country which is currently worsening due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“It is hoped that with this stimulus, the public will be able to reduce travel costs by airlines to various destinations which ultimately have a significant impact on economic growth in the regions,” he said.
Apart from the PJP2U stimulus, the government will also provide subsidies for flight calibration costs previously borne by airport operators.

Novie also asked airport operators and flight operators to carry out reconciliation and verification to prepare a valid report as a basis for requesting payment of stimulus bills to the government.
“We hope that after the signing of this agreement, the benefits can be felt for productive communities to support airport operations and the implementation of domestic air transportation. So that it can encourage the revival of the Indonesian economy due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic through the air transportation and tourism sectors, “he said.
For information, so far the PSC or airport tax added to the passenger ticket so that it is one of the major cost components.
For example, departures from Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport are Rp. 130,000 per passenger and Terminal 2 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport is Rp. 85,000 per passenger.
Then Halim Perdanakusuma Airport IDR 50,000 per passenger, Silangit Airport IDR 60,000 per passenger, Banyuwangi Airport IDR 65,000 per passenger, and Kuala Namu Airport IDR 100,000 per passenger.
