Macrumors notes that rumors are rife if Apple has started filing on a new 12-inch model of Macbook, the first since the old 12-inch was put in the mothball in 2019.
The purpose of bringing new life to the Macbook is to offer an affordable model to people who think that the Macbook Air and Macbook Pro are on the more expensive side.
According to Bloomberg technology writer Mark Gurman, a new 12-inch Macbook could be launched in early 2024 at the earliest, but it could also be longer than that.
However, the well-known analysts Ming-Chi Kuo and Ross Young are skeptical of the rumor, which speaks volumes for Apple’s current strategy of betting on 13 inches and above for its notebook computers.
