It is currently unknown whether there are people inside the house. But the fire brigade has sent in smoke divers, writes iTromsø.
– There are two people registered at the address that have not been accounted for, says task leader Janne Merete Hansen to NRK.
Police reported the fire on Twitter at 10pm on Tuesday night. Large forces from the emergency services were quickly on the scene.
– We are working to get an overview of the situation because we do not have that at the moment, says the task leader at 22.40.
There is a large amount of smoke and open flames on the site.
The house is close to the neighboring houses which have now been evacuated because there is a danger of spreading on the site.
– We have driven out with several cars, and are in the process of extinguishing the fire, says Runar Korneliussen, operator at the 110 exchange.
Large forces moved out to the detached house located on Kvaløysletta outside Tromsøya.
