Destructive power of ‘100 billion nuclear bombs’… ‘Panic’ in spacecraft flying to Earth [지금이뉴스]

An extremely high-energy cosmic ray with energy so large that it cannot be explained by modern physics has been captured again.

On the 24th, the ‘Telescope Array’ joint research team, which observes high-energy cosmic rays by installing hundreds of particle detectors in the desert of Utah, USA, reported in the scientific journal ‘Science’ that the energy of the cosmic ray particles captured in May 2021 was It was revealed that it was analyzed to be 244EeV (exaelectron volt = 10 to the 18th electron volt), which is 5 times larger than the theoretically possible value.

The spacecraft, named the ‘Amaterasu Particle’ after the sun goddess in Japanese mythology, was captured on May 27, 2021, in an area of 48 square kilometers across 23 detectors in the northwest part of the Telescope Array in Utah.

Analysis of these particles revealed that they were extremely high-energy cosmic rays (UHECRs) with an energy of up to 244EeV (about 40J).

Ultra-high energy cosmic rays are subatomic charged particles flying from space over 1 EeV, which is about 1 million times more powerful than the energy that can be achieved by man-made particle accelerators.

The research team said that since the discovery of the ‘Oh-My-God particle’ in 1991, more than 30 ultra-high energy cosmic rays have been observed in the telescopic array, but none have an energy level close to that of the Oh-My-God or Amaterasu particles. Yes.

According to modern physics, no matter how powerful an ultra-high energy spacecraft is, its energy level cannot exceed the theoretical limit of 50 EeV.

Scientists are confused by this.

Until now, the only spacecraft detected over 50 EeV was the ‘Oh My God Particle’.

This cosmic ray had an energy level of 320 EeV, a level that should not exist and shocked astrophysicists at the time.

What makes both spacecraft mysterious is the fact that we don’t know when, where, or how they were built.

The research team explained that there were no source galaxies or other known astronomical objects that could be potential sources in the direction in which Amaterasu flew, and that the direction from which the spacecraft came was an empty space region (Local Void) where galaxies rarely exist in the macroscopic structure of the universe.

Scientists see these two ultra-high energy particles, whose very existence is a mystery, as an example of the imperfection of modern physics.
