Two gravestones have been destroyed at a Jewish cemetery in Lekkerkerk, near Rotterdam. Photos show the gravestones lying on the ground, with one broken in the middle.
The police suspect destruction and are investigating. Also to clarify whether there is an anti-Semitic incident.
A man who lives near the cemetery discovered the vandalized headstones yesterday. “This is backwards and disrespectful. Graven leaves you alone. You can disagree with things, but this just goes way too far,” he says. Broadcasting West .
The municipality of Krimpenerwaard is the manager of the small Jewish historic cemetery and will report the incident. Relatives have not yet contacted them.
