Young, rich and famous create a deadly combination for actors around the world. Many of them can’t keep up with them and end up tragically, either because of drugs, or because of depression and mental illness.
Jackie Chan was almost one of them, but he managed to get up and realize the mistakes of his youth.
In his memoirs, the Chinese action actor openly admitted that he was an idiot when he was young. He often squandered his money on sex and luxury goods.
“I’ll go buy everything I want in a week,” he wrote.
Like when he saw one of his friends wearing a luxury watch on set. Not to be outdone she went to buy the watch, not one but seven pairs.
Another story was also written when he had a car accident while driving his luxury car.
“Every day I was drunk and I was racing at speed, in the morning I crashed a Porsche and at night I destroyed a Mercedes. Every day I was always dizzy (due to the effects of alcohol),” he recalls.
His actions did not stop there. He admitted he nearly stabbed a director on set.
In his latest interview with Shidian Talk, Jackie Chan shared how upset he was when he saw his colleague being insulted by the director.
“I took a knife and almost stabbed the director. I said he could harass me as he pleased, but not disturb my brother,” he recalled.
Fortunately, the action didn’t go through because there was a co-star who arrested Jackie Chan.
“Sammo Hung hugged me and said, ‘Are you crazy?'” He said.
But Jackie Chan didn’t explain who the director was and what movie they were working on.
Jackie Chan and Sammo Hung often appear together in films. There are dozens of titles featuring both of them, both when they are actors and when they are both stuntmen. Starting from Enter The Dragon (1973), Twinkle, Twinkle Lucky Star (1985) to Around The World in 80 Days (2004).
