Dessintey nominated for the prestigious Prix Galien in New York

Saint-Etienne medtech Drawing, (3.5 M € turnover, 17 employees) we told you about last month, specialized in post-stroke rehabilitation technologies using computerized mirror therapy, is nominated for the Prix Galien USA 2022 in the “Galien Startup Prize” category. For over 50 years, the Galen Foundation rewards and promotes innovations in various health fields, including biotechnology research, innovative medical devices and digital health. “Worldwide, the Prix Galien is considered the equivalent of the Nobel Prize in the life sciences industry”, describes Dessintey in a press release. Three winners will be announced on October 27 in New York in the following categories: Best startup in the pharmaceutical or biotech sector, Best startup in the medical technology sector, Best startup in the digital health sector.

A very broad technological field of application

Dessintey’s appointment acknowledges “Not only the many years of experience and work of our team, but also the growing interest in our innovative rehabilitation device derived from mirror therapy. The field of application of this technology is very broad, from the motor recovery of post-stroke patients to the management of chronic pain such as CRPS. Our ambition is therefore to make this technique accessible to 90% of them, compared to only 10% to 20% today “., notes Nicolas Fournier, co-founder of Dessintey. In 2016, Dessintey was awarded the Sofmer Innovation Prize (French Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation). Then in 2017 the “Coup de Coeur du Jury” award from the Victoires de l’Innovation. Dessintey is also a member of the cluster Noveka and winner of the Réseau Entreprendre.
