Dessau’s Lions Club supports handicapped and socially disadvantaged children with donations

Dessau-Rosslau/MZ/AGE – You have long since decided, the Dessau Lions: This year, just before Christmas, you want to bring joy to children. The club is donating a total of 8,000 euros these days to associations that care for sick or needy children and young people.

Matthias Seidlich, Chairman of the Lions Aid Association, and Past President Uwe Becker handed the first check for 1,750 euros to Annett Simroth from the children’s and youth hospice on Friday. The employees look after children from six families. “With our donation, a trip to an alpaca farm should be organized,” said Becker. The donation can be used to cover travel costs and admission.

The Lions also donated 1,750 euros to the Dessau Rainbow School. The money will be used for a new sandpit. The association for the disabled, which receives an equally large sum from the Lions Club, wants to use the donated money for a multi-day excursion to a regional school camp. The trip is scheduled to take place in 2022.

The Helping Hands association is planning a trip to the Belantis theme park with 19 children with the help of the Lions’ cash injection. And the station mission, which received 1,000 euros, wants to use the money for their work.
