They added that wage increases in ministries and government offices are not automatic, but an option for employers. The salary scale for ministry and government office officials is partially different, the decree establishes the lower and upper limits of the salary depending on the official’s grade, the exact amount can be determined by the employer – explained the KTK.
It was also reported that, in view of the war situation, the government ensures the coverage of the salary increase for government officials in the ministry by ordering the withdrawal of 10 percent of the ministerial posts, and that the wage balance thus freed up can be used for a wage increase.
In practice, this mostly means that the salary cover of unfilled, vacant ministerial posts can be used for salary increases, mass layoffs are not expected
