JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – The plan of Vanessa Angel’s sister, Mayang Luciana Fitri and Nachika Septalia Nasy, to sing on the 40th anniversary of Vanessa Angel’s death, has its pros and cons.
Previously, it was known that Mayang and Chika released a cover video for a song entitled Yesterday, which was dedicated to the late Vanessa Angel.
Unfortunately, the video cover of the song drew a lot of criticism and blasphemy from netizens who considered the action inappropriate.

Mayang, Chika, and Vanessa Angel’s father, Doddy Sudrajat, suddenly became the target of the public after announcing that Vanessa Angel’s sister would sing on the artist’s 40th anniversary.
Both of them will later perform Dewa 19’s song entitled Face With a Smile.
Netizens think that the 40th anniversary of death is usually filled with recitation, praying, and giving donations to orphans.
Realizing that she was in the spotlight of netizens, Chika then revealed her plans regarding Vanessa Angel’s 40-day event.
“For those who ask why 40 sing daily, don’t recite the Koran. The answer is yes, of course there is a Yasinan tahlilan study with orphans and religious teachers,” explained Chila, quoted from her Instagram Story, Saturday (4/12/2021).
Chika said that all of Vanessa Angel’s extended family and Vanessa’s late biological mother, Lucy Mayawati, would be present at the event.
