Special Investigations Headquarters called intelligence officers from Yongsan Police Station as witnesses and investigated allegations that the police briefing report containing security concerns during Halloween had been deleted.
There are no investigations conducted by the Ministry of Public Administration and Security or the Seoul metropolitan government, but a dispute against the state is also emerging, centered on the families of the victims.
The reporter Son Ha-neul talked about it.

The questions are coming from the secret service officer at Yongsan Police Station, who leaves after being investigated for about two hours.
The suspect was being investigated on charges that Yongsan-seo’s briefing report, which highlighted the crowd problem during Halloween, was canceled.

“I’m just here to check the facts … I can’t tell you exactly if I can (answer) or not.”
The special edition summoned intelligence officers from Yongsan Station one after another, including the writer of the report, to investigate whether elders such as Yongsan Station Information Division and the Head of Information Section ordered and persuaded the cancellation.
The special edition secured a statement against which the intelligence officer who wrote the document protested, saying, “If you do a search, a seizure and a forensic, all will be revealed, but you shouldn’t delete the document.” .
However, it was found that the head of Yongsan-seo’s information department had an elderly person to delete all reports, including the document.
The police put four other people on hold, including the head of the information department of the Yongsan station and the head of the intelligence department, and officials from the Yongsan station and the 112 Situation Room of the Seoul office.
However, the special edition has not yet conducted a mandatory investigation against the Ministry of Public Administration and Security and the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
In the midst of this, the grieving families movement to hold the state accountable for compensation for the 10/29 disaster is starting to take seriously.
According to the Public Interest Report Center, 16 families of the victims asked about the state compensation process and 7 of them decided to file a compensation claim.

“They said (the victims’ families) had many impressions that the state had not taken the corresponding measures and tried to minimize and cover this case as much as possible without any guidance on actual relief.”
Investigations of the families of the victims and the injured continued at the 10/29 disaster response team set up by lawyers for a democratic society, Minbyun said.
