Despite the mega fuss around the world – McDonalds in Luleå is open

The restaurant in Luleå confirmed the problem with the internal system, but referred questions to the media group in Stockholm.

The problem was worldwide and, according to media in Australia, Japan and New Zealand, restaurants were forced to close.

– It has nothing to do with cyber security, but it was an internal IT problem, which had a major impact for a limited time, says press manager Henrik Nerell to SVT Nyheter.

By 11 o’clock the problems were largely resolved again.
