Exports of beef closed 2022 with an increase of 10.9% in volume and 24% in turnover, according to the ABC Meat Exporters Consortium. This improvement in shipments was recorded despite the scenario of falling prices per ton exported in the last eight months.

In this context, China represented 77.6% of the total exported in 2022. The average price of boneless meat sales to that destination in December 2022 was over US$ 3,676 per ton, below the maximum of US$ 5,900 reached in May of that year.

Last year, exports in this area reached 92,800 tons; 1.2% below the shipments made between January and December 2021. These shipments generated a turnover of US$ 846.9 million, a year-on-year increase of 7.8%. The main destinations in December 2022 were EuropaChile e Israel.
In boneless frozen meat, last year’s exports were 473,300 tons, 19.4% more in the year-on-year comparison. Foreign currency income was US$ 2,416 million, 36% higher. The largest sales were made to China, the United States and Israel.
