Despite persistent drought: “No spraying ban seems imminent” | Inland

It remains bone dry in our country. There seems to be little or no improvement in the future either. People without a rain well are still allowed to use tap water to water their garden or to wash their car.

This afternoon, Groen co-chairman said Jeremie Vaneeckhout, in the studio of VTM NEWSeven that the Flemish government itself takes too few measures: “The Flemish government looks very closely at the people who have to solve it themselves, such as with the installation of rainwater wells.”

What is certain is that the precipitation deficit in our country is already very large. The most acute situation is in the west of the country. Locally, the shortage rises to 300 millimeters of rain.

Despite the drought, there would be no spraying ban, says VTM journalist Karel Lattrez. A ban on washing the car with tap water also seems unlikely. What does seem to be getting through is an extension of the inflation ban for farmers, Lattrez said.
