Despite a decline in ICU admissions, the incidence rate experiences a small uptick.

SANTANDER, 18 (EUROPA PRESS)

The incidence of the coronavirus continues its slight rise in Cantabria, while, on the other side, the number of hospitalized has dropped again to four.

In yesterday’s session, Friday, seven new cases were registered among people over 60 years of age -the only age group for which the Cantabrian Health Service provides data on community transmission-, which is two less than in the previous session.

In the last week, 43 new cases have been recorded among the elderly, which amount to 88 if the last 15 days are taken into account, according to the latest data from the SCS, corresponding to the closing date of the 17th.

The cumulative incidence at 14 days has risen to 50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, one point more than the previous day, and at 25 to seven days, two more. Both parameters are at controlled risk, like Cantabria as a whole.

As for those hospitalized, there are four, one less than the day before, with which hospital occupancy is at 0.3%. In addition, the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), which the day before had an internment due to the virus, has again emptied of Covid patients.

Of the total hospitalized, three are in the Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital, and one in Laredo.

On the other hand, there are still no new deaths from coronavirus, so they remain at 1,019 since the start of the pandemic.
