The head of the conservation section for the V Banyuwangi region, Purwantono, admitted that he has just learned this information. His party is looking for tourists to carry out this dangerous action.
To prevent this from happening again, the BKSDA will alert the officers at the top of the Ijen crater. In addition, the BKSDA admitted that it installed warning panels in a number of danger spots, including the dead tree.
“In fact, for the location of the (viral) tree, we once put a warning sign because the location is right on the edge of the Ijen crater and it’s very dangerous for humans,” he said.
“I don’t know if the banner is missing or what. Later we will order the agents to reinstall the warning panel,” he added.
