Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has awarded a prize of 100 million dollars, equivalent to over one billion kroner, to actress Eva Longoria and Admiral Bill McRaven, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
Eva Longoria is known for the television series “Desperate Housewives” while Bill McRaven is known for organizing the military special operation that killed Osama bin Laden.
The Jeff Bezos “Courage and Civlity” award has been awarded annually since 2021 and the money in it will be used to help people in need. In 2012, Eva Longoria founded the Eva Longoria Foundation, which has the stated goal of helping people of Latina background get a better future through education and entrepreneurship.
Bill McRaven, in turn, has led the “Preservation of the Force & Family” initiative, which aims to ensure the mental, spiritual and physical well-being of people connected to the US military and their families.
