Désirée Nosbusch: From teen star to celebrated actress

Désirée Nosbusch celebrates her 55th birthday on January 15th. The actress has long been in the spotlight: she started her career at a young age as a child star. In terms of career, things are still going well for her. So she became a celebrated actress. © spot on news




Désirée Nosbusch was born on January 14th, 1965 in Esch an der Alzette in Luxembourg. At the age of twelve, the daughter of an Italian and a Luxembourger had her first appearance as a radio presenter at Radio Luxemburg. The photo shows her in 1981 as part of the annual review “Menschen 81” with Frank Elstner.

In the early 1980s, Nosbusch worked as a moderator and actress. Her first feature film was “After Midnight” in 1981. In the same year she began four years of acting training in New York. The picture shows her with Götz George in 1984 behind the scenes of the show “Wetten, dass ..?”.

For ZDF, Désirée Nosbusch moderated the music programs “Hits von der Schulbank”, “Hits mit Desirée” and “Musicbox”. In France and Germany, she later got jobs in the evening program of various TV stations and moderated major events, award ceremonies and galas. In 1987 she met the acting legends Diether Krebs and Iris Berben.

The programs that Nosbusch presented included the “Grand Prix Eurovision de la Chanson” and “Stars in the Manege”. In 1984 the latter took place in the Circus Krone in Munich (photo). In particular, her diverse language skills ensured that the young moderator got numerous jobs. Nosbusch speaks Luxembourgish, German, English, French, Italian and Spanish.

In 1981, Nosbusch played alongside Sarah Siritzky (right) in “Super Beasts! ‘A Friend for a Birthday”. In 1982, she caused a sensation with the film “The Fan”, in which she was seen naked for minutes and played a murderess. In film she continued her education at the University of Southern California, where she studied film production and directing.

Nosbusch’s career was going very well: After “The Fan”, she landed further jobs as an actress. She also tried out as a singer. In 1984 she met Johann Hölzel, better known under his stage name Falco. With him she took the single “Can it be love?” on.

As a moderator, she continued to work alongside her acting career. The picture shows her with Uschi Glas in 1991. In the same year she married Harald Kloser, with whom she had two children Noah-Lennon (* 1995) and Luka Teresa-Gerda (* 1998). This made things quiet around Nosbusch. Before that, she was with her manager, 26 years her senior, for almost ten years.

Then in 2002 the separation between film composer and author Harald Kloser. After the relationship broke up, she remained in Los Angeles because of her children. She is still in contact with her ex-husband: “We are excellent parents and there for our children. Harald is a dear friend of mine,” she said in an interview with “B.Z. Berlin”.

Nosbusch was always in front of the camera for German television – and also tried it on stage: In 2013 she played in the “Tag der Gnade” at the Kurfürstendamm theater in Berlin. After an eight-year relationship with Mehmet Kurtuluş, she made a name for herself with her new friend in 2013: Daimler boss Dieter Zetsche.

However, after about a year, the couple separated. Meanwhile, the actress and presenter has found her new great love in Tom Bierbaumer. She and the cameraman said yes in 2018.

At the moment, the 55-year-old can be seen in the ZDF hit series “Bad Banks” as Christelle Leblanc. For her role, Nosbusch received an award from the German Academy for Television and she was nominated for the German Television Award. The second season is coming out this year: fans will find out how the investment manager will continue from the end of January.
