The design and construction of a home is a process that Desirée Monsiváis works with the traceability methodology, a system that the front of Rayadas adapted from the production and consumption sector to architecture.
In order to obtain a Master’s Degree in Engineering and Construction Administration from Tec de Monterrey, she lowered the concept for her project, which became a life plan, as well as her certification as technical director.
“I love being a real estate developer, it’s like germinating a seed and something extraordinary grows. These days I have been updating, I signed up for a course on it and you start from scratch, that is, from the analysis of the land, the financial aspect, the search for financing tools, trusts, collaboration contracts and until the growth. It’s a scrub, I’m an architect, I make plans and I like to learn the financial part. My plan A is football, which can later become plan B, because at some point they won’t give me the legs to score another 91 goals. It’s about combining something important and not about putting one plan into another, ”he mentions El Economista, Rayadas’s pioneering forward, where she has become the top scorer in the history of the league.
Since his childhood in Gómez Palacio, Durango had a hunch about soccer and architecture. He narrates that he tied sheets with the chairs imagining the construction of a house and together with his sister, with the plastic boxes of the cassettes, they made little houses, imagining a city and inventing stories. The games were complemented by soccer challenges in the street, at school or climbing trees.
In Durango, she did not find opportunities for football development, there was still no Liga MX for women, so she accepted the invitation to play in Kazakhstan with Biik Kazygurt, the club that led her to play matches in the UEFA Women’s Champions League. In January 2015, he began one of his most important growth processes, he learned Kazakh, lived with a native family and adapted to the competition system of that league composed of eight teams, with a double shift, a structure established a decade ago.
“For me it is a blink, six years ago I was there. Compared to the Mexican league there are no factors or variables that can be measured. In Mexico, media issues, marketing, the rise of women in command are taking a lot of force, that did not happen there. It’s a very small league, no pressure. In Kazakhstan the numbers are compared with the Germans, the benchmark. By proximity, we now have the United States, the world champions ”.
Before leaving, Desirée finished her studies and presented her mother with her degree as a thank you for her education. She was the person who encouraged her to be competitive in sports from a young age, starting in athletics when she used to say that she admired the soccer player Luis Hernández “the matador” for his passion for sports.
If traceability is the process between each letter from A to Z and it is a progressive line of a successful process. What would the Liga MX for women lack to improve its professionalization?
“It depends on the context in which each club and player lives. As a suggestion, the players lack criteria to think of themselves as professionals. That the player think about professionalization not only personally but also in a group. In the women’s league there are not many references with international experience. There is a long way to go in terms of how professional women in Mexican soccer are in behavior, discipline, learn tactical and technical issues, but also if the objectives are not met, learn to smooth things over and be media smart. Have the humility to learn from mistakes ”.
During the pandemic, in May 2020, Desirée expressed annoyance on her social networks due to the lack of interest in the media and the authorities in the uncertainty of the reactivation of the women’s MX League. Eliga MX was created but “for those who forgot us and those who didn’t, I don’t have children to use as weights, I don’t have a mansion. I worry about rent from home due to my salary, but next weekend I will be playing FIFA at home with a borrowed PlayStation, ”he wrote wryly.
With the disappearance of Ascenso MX, the controversy of the lack of representation of players returned and although there is the Mexican Association of Soccer Players, which called on unemployed soccer players to seek a collective agreement, it lacks union recognition and can only advise players.
Desirée, today at 33 years of age, recognizes that she could not lead a movement among players such as a union, an association, but mentions that this would help to “have clear rights and duties, it would be good for both parties to win, 50 and 50% mutual benefits. That we have more union and communication between clubs? I am honest, I have not lived it as it is. If the union helps us to grow women’s soccer in all aspects, infrastructure, salaries, better deals and agreements, I would say yes. I am not the right person, I dedicate myself to continue competing ”.
Can a player live only on women’s soccer?
“Not now, and it is not by presumption, I am a fortuitous case, because I looked for so much a personal aspiration and economic improvements, of economic resources of greater financial magnitude. I came to the League with merits and I was able to negotiate. I hope that in 5 years women can make a living from professional football. In this 2021 we have to be the sacrifices, to be the ones who tell you overnight that ‘you are no longer in the team’, ‘go to another position’, ‘we will lower your salary because money is not generated ‘. I hope that the girls who are 15 and 16 years old will see a league with better salaries and conditions ”.
