Daniel Díaz Martínez, Secretary of Health of Guanajuato, said that as long as there is no vaccine against Covid-19 for the population between 5 and 11 years of age, it cannot be applied to this group, since the creation of a biological is required. that contains only one third of a dose that is applied to adults and said that currently does not exist in Mexico.
The state official said that it would be desirable for boys and girls from 5 to 11 years of age to already have the anti-Covid-19 biological; however, he said that in the country there is still no vaccine for this population group.
“It would be desirable for children to have their vaccine, but the same vaccine that is applied to adults cannot be applied, it must be said that a special vaccine is needed because it only has a third of the dose of the vaccine that is applied to adults and that vaccine does not exist in Mexico, that is why even minors as long as they are over 12 years old are given the vaccine, but from 11 to 5 years old we do not have the vaccine in Mexico.
He pointed out that it is not possible to apply the biological with which other population groups have been vaccinated, for this reason he said that until now there has been no progress in the inoculation of the population.
He said that as soon as there are vaccines available for boys and girls, the unit will begin with the application of biological ones and that with this they are more protected against the disease.
He pointed out that until now it is difficult to know if this population group can be vaccinated during the year since it is unknown if there will be the adequate vaccine.
