Designer of Integrated Solar PV Systems Training Course: Empowering Professionals in Dubai, UAE

Dubai United Arab Emirates: DEWA’s Innovation Center successfully concluded the second edition of the “Designer of Integrated Solar PV Systems” training course for the year 2023, which was organized by the center in cooperation with “TUV Rheinland Academy” to introduce solar photovoltaic systems and plants, ways of designing, installing, testing and maintaining them, and methods for economically evaluating their projects. . 20 participants completed the training course and took the exam to obtain certificates in the competency of designing and installing solar energy systems.

The training course is part of the authority’s continuous efforts to empower the competencies and technical expertise of professionals in the United Arab Emirates in the field of solar photovoltaic energy. The Innovation Center within the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Energy Complex hosted the training course “Designer of Integrated Solar Photovoltaic Systems” as part of its efforts to enhance its position as a global educational platform to host events, conferences, seminars and workshops, and a global incubator for innovations in the field of clean energy technologies and the dissemination of knowledge, through His strong and constructive partnerships with accredited universities, institutions and entities such as TUV Rheinland Academy, in line with the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Carbon Neutral Strategy 2050 for the Emirate of Dubai to provide 100% of energy production capacity from clean energy sources by 2050.

The trainees praised the importance of the course and its role in developing their knowledge, information and experiences in the field of integrated solar photovoltaic systems.

And he said Dr. Vyacheslav Fedorenko: “The course was organized and presented in the best way, and I recommend all those interested in solar energy and electrical engineering to participate in the upcoming versions of the training course.”

On the other hand, he expressed Leon KonaHe expressed his happiness with the training course, hoping to organize other training courses in this field and in other fields as well.

On his part, the trainee said Mohsen Diaa El Din: “The training was fruitful and useful, full of valuable information that will help us develop our career.”

It is noteworthy that the course aimed to expand the trainees’ knowledge about the principles of photovoltaic systems, and the two international standards issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC 60364-7-71 and IEC 62446) related to the installation of electrical systems and ways to protect against electric shocks, and testing, documenting and maintaining photovoltaic systems connected to the network, respectively. The trainees were also introduced to the principles of designing photovoltaic solar plants, the economic evaluation of photovoltaic design, in addition to possessing the basic capabilities necessary to design and install the elements of the low-voltage photovoltaic system connected to the grid and not connected to the grid, and calculating the size of the photovoltaic system connected to the grid and not connected to the grid.

The training course is part of a series of ongoing courses organized by the center in the field of clean energy technologies, as part of its commitment to sustainability and providing comprehensive programs that keep pace with emerging trends and accelerating challenges. Through these training courses, the center aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical applications, and to enhance the capabilities of the new generation of professionals and experts in the field of clean energy technologies, who are able to actively contribute to bringing about positive change.
