The village’s 49th annual Halloween parade takes place on Monday evening.
The parade, scheduled between 7pm and 11pm, runs along Sixth Avenue between King Street and West 15th Street.
It was estimated that a large crowd – numbering more than a million people – would participate in the parade, both New Yorkers and domestic and foreign tourists.
The theme of the village’s 49th annual Halloween parade is freedom.
“It’s a move! It’s a moment! Hear it!!! Join us in ecstatic joy! Raise spirits all over the world! ” we read in a promotion of the parade.
This year’s Grand Marshal will be the Brooklyn United Marching Band, along with a surprise guest.
The organizers posted a message on social networks with images from the show.
Check out the video with Jennifer Cabana’s report from the parade itself.
