Riyadh: A luxury train is coming to Saudi Arabia. It will become the first luxury train service in the Middle East-South African region. ‘Desert Dream’. The Saudi Railway Company and the Italian Arsenale Group, which specializes in managing luxury train journeys, have signed an agreement for this.
The ‘Desert Dream’ train with 40 luxury cabins will be operational by the end of this year but will start running in the last quarter of next year. Seat booking will start from the end of this year.
The first service will start from North Train Station in the capital Riyadh and end at Qurayyat Train Station via Hail. The Minister of Transport and Logistics and Chairman of the Board of Directors of ‘Zar’, Engineer Saleh Aljasar, said that the launch of luxury train services will add quality services and additional options to the country’s transport options.
The agreement is one of the initiatives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy to improve living standards and support national strategies. The minister praised the unlimited support from the government to the railway transport and logistics system. The Minister of Transport said that he appreciates the mechanisms and cooperation between various parties in the sector to develop transport patterns and improve the experience of beneficiaries.

Desert Dream Train adds tourist and entertainment options to its list of services offered to its customers. It represents a great addition to the company’s services. Paolo Barletta, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Italian Arsenale Group, said that the initial construction stages of the Desert Dream Train have recently begun in Italy to enter service as per the announced plan. Arsenal company has invested more than two hundred million Rials in the ‘Desert Dream’ train. It is a company specializing in luxury hospitality, international hotel and resort management and luxury travel. The company is working on sustainable projects for luxury services through six tourist trains operating in Italy.
