After the respiratory symptoms, after the loss of taste and smell, here come skin manifestationss from Covid-19. In a press release, the National Syndicate of Dermatologists-Venereologists (SNDV) is raising the alarm on the symptoms which can potentially appear on the skin in the event of contraction of the disease due to the coronavirus.
“A WhatsApp group of more than 400 dermatologists (liberal and hospital-university), organized by the SNDV, highlighted skin lesions, associated or not with signs of Covid”, we can read in a press release published by the union.
And the SNDV to list the symptoms in question. “These are acrosyndromes (appearance of pseudo-frostbite in the extremities), sudden onset of sometimes painful redness, and transient hives lesions”, we are told.
“Potentially contagious” patients
The dermatologists’ union then suggests, if these skin symptoms ever occur, to consult a professional in the sector as soon as possible.
“Analysis of the many cases reported to the SNDV shows that these demonstrations can” be associated with Covid-19, the statement added.
“We are alerting the public and the medical profession in order to detect these potentially contagious patients as quickly as possible (without necessarily showing signs of breathing difficulties)”, he concludes.
