Five years that hadn’t taken place. It is the return tomorrow of the Montluçon Foot-AS Domérat derby at the Dunlop stadium.
For the first time it will take place in National 3, with an already high share as the two clubs are limited to occupying the last two places in the standings after four days. Domérat is the last, 0 points, four defeats in four games. With a small point taken in Clermont (B), Montluçon slightly precedes him in the standings. “We have to unblock the counter,” said Cheick Fall, Domératois coach.
But if the two local teams have not yet won, there is still something positive to remember about the last few matches, assure the two coaches together. “You have to rely on the content of the matches against Haut-Lyonnais and Vaulx-en-Velin and be able to translate it into points,” observes the Domérat manager. His counterpart Nicolas Laspalles has the same ambition. “I’m not worried at all. The group is working, I feel a clear improvement in some areas”.
So who validates the status of a favorite? Cheick Fall has the idea of him. “We are more in our place than Montluçon. They have N3 years for us, this is our first. They have a budget that is not ours. We are not in the same world.” A way to transfer the pressure to the opponent? In any case, the public is expected, tomorrow at Dunlop, with over 600 spectators expected.
Montluçon Foot – Domérat, tomorrow at 6pm, at the Dunlop stadium. Debrief at the Sports Café, Sunday from 5pm to 6pm, live.
