Derby frenzy in the Bundesliga!
The 4th matchday of the “Bundesliga Home Challenge” had 14 derbies ready for fans – and they were not disappointed! Dortmund against Schalke, Hamburg against St. Pauli and Hertha BSC against Union Berlin were just three of many football delicacies.
After Schalke 04 won 8-0 (!) Against Borussia Dortmund in the Ruhrpott derby, Hertha BSC secured dominance in the capital. Forward Pascal Köpke (24) and eSport athlete Eren Poyraz ripped off Union pros Julius Kade (20) and Keven Schlotterbeck (22) 7: 1 on the console! Satisfaction for blue-and-whites who lost the city derby almost 0-1 in the first half of the season.
Köpke, who swapped the soccer shoes for flip-flops for the virtual duel, was combative after the derby victory: “We hope that we can play the second half of the season and then also win the real derby.”
Things went worse for Hamburger SV. The second division lost the third city duel in a row. After two 0-2 bankruptcies, the red trousers were down 2: 3 this time. After the first leg between gamers Christoph Strietzel (HSV) and Can Tuna (St. Pauli), HSV was still in front. Defender Tim Leibold (26) lost the tight lead but lost his duel against Luca Zander (24) clearly with 1: 3.
In the Saxony derby between RB Leipzig and Dynamo Dresden, the second division team won 6-2. Dresden’s Marcel Gramann had presented a 3-2 victory against Leipzig’s Alexander Czaplok in the duel between the eSportsmen. RB talent Tom Krauss (18) also lost in his duel. Dresden’s Justin Löwe (21) won 3-0.
