“Der8auer’s AM5 High Performance Heatspreader: Revolutionary Cooling for Overclockers”

High temperatures of modern processors are not unusual, and overclocking makes the problem even worse. A well-known overclocker der8auer has tons of videos on social media about how to overclock and has ventured into making more of his own overclocking accessories. His latest venture is a cooler AM5 High Performance Heatspreader a Mycro Direct Die, which allows deployment directly on the chiplets of these processors. So the user has to use a little of his own skill and remove the standard heatspreader of the processor so as not to damage the CPU itself. Then nothing prevents him from putting the cooler directly on the exposed CPU and significantly reducing the processor temperatures.

Der8auer tested it on a Ryzen 9 7900X with a frequency of 5.0 GHz and a voltage of 1.3 V. The classic 280mm AIO liquid cooling served as the basis, when using which the processor attacked the 90 °C limit and during load it was mostly around 88-90 ° C. However, Overclocker and his team developed a new heatspreader (High Performance Heatspreader), which, after applying liquid metal and placing it on a processor with the same 280mm AIO cooling, showed significantly lower temperatures and was mostly between about 74 and 78 °C. Using the module, which moved the position of the cooling block to more suitable places, the temperature dropped further and reached approx. 70 to 74 °C.

He also showed off the Mycro Direct Die acrylic custom cooling block, which will come in normal and RGB variants. With the use of this block and the KryoSheet graphene mat, the temperatures have already reached approximately 68-69 °C. But even that wasn’t enough for him, so he used that liquid metal (Conductonaut Extreme) and it got the temperature to around 64°C. In principle, he managed to reduce temperatures by 25 °C in this way, allowing for further improvements in clocking performance.

As for the price, the team is still deciding, however, they are talking about the fact that the heatspreader should cost around 40-50 EUR, the block with the pump around 100-140 EUR depending on the version. A version for Intel is also being worked on, which should appear shortly.
