Deputy – the president of the Court of Appeal – Burgas judge Galina Todorova retired after more than 41 years devoted to the law.
By decision of the Judicial College of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Todorova was released from the position of “deputy head of administration – deputy chairman” of the Court of Appeal – Burgas due to reaching retirement age, as of 21.10.2024.
At the suggestion of the President of the Court of Appeals – Burgas, Judge Galina Todorova was awarded with a “personal badge of honor first degree – gold”, as well as a monetary award. The decision of the SC of the Supreme Court is based on Art. 303, para. 2, item 2, letter “a” and Art. 303, para. 3, item 1 of the Labor Code for demonstrated high professionalism, exemplary performance of official duties and high moral qualities.
Judge Galina Todorova is one of the most experienced magistrates in the Appellate District. She graduated from the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” in 1983. Her entire working experience has been spent as a judge. Immediately after graduation, he joined the District Court – Burgas as an intern-judge and for 41 years administered justice, turning law into his life’s mission.
She was the president of the Regional Court – Pomorie and the deputy president of the District Court – Burgas. By decision of the SJC in 2012, she was appointed to the Court of Appeals – Burgas, where she was the deputy chairman and headed the Criminal Division for the last year. She always worked at 100% case load.
Her rich professional experience includes numerous additional qualifications and specializations on topics such as: “Europeanization of the criminal law of the EU member states”, “Corruption crimes”, “Effective investigation of criminal cases in accordance with the standards of the ECHR”, “Bribery. Trading in influence”, “Crimes related to health care”, “Information technology in the context of the investigation of computer crime cases”, etc.
He holds the highest rank in the judicial system – “judge of the Supreme Court and Supreme Court”.
Judge Todorova is a demanding and dedicated magistrate. She is an example of a worthy judge, possessing the motivation, strength and energy to cope with any challenge. Extremely correct and responsible, with a keen sense of justice, Judge Todorova enjoys the respect of judges, prosecutors, lawyers and representatives of the legal community in the region. Its activity has always been highly rated in the inspections carried out in recent years in the court.
With her reputation as an excellent judge who does not give in to pressure, with her high morals and integrity, Judge Todorova added value to the judicial profession and to the authority of the judiciary. Burgas students also had the opportunity to receive valuable knowledge and advice from her during the information campaign to increase the legal literacy of young people.
Respect, respect and gratitude for professional and life lessons were expressed by judges and employees to Judge Galina Todorova during her last working day at the Court of Appeal – Burgas and they wished her to be healthy, still with a high spirit, cheerful and inspired for new endeavors and journeys.
