“Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Saif bin Zayed’s Speech on UAE Armed Forces Unification Anniversary”

ABU DHABI, 5th May / WAM / Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, delivered a speech through the “Dir’ Al Watan” magazine on the forty-seventh anniversary of the unification of the armed forces..the following is its text:

“I have the honor to extend my highest congratulations and best wishes to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, “may God protect him,” his deputies and their brothers, Their Highnesses the rulers of the Emirates, Crown Princes, deputies of rulers and the honorable people of the Emirates, and I extend my greetings of appreciation and admiration to the officers and personnel Our brave armed forces; The safe homeland shield and its impenetrable fence, on the occasion of the forty-seventh anniversary of the unification of the UAE Armed Forces.

The unification of the armed forces by a wise decision taken by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may his soul rest in peace” and his brothers, the founding leaders and rulers of the Emirates on May 6, 1976 AD, was a vital and decisive step in the history of the state, as it is not just a military tactic, but rather a symbol of the spirit of brotherhood and solidarity. Which brings together the people of the Emirates, because of its pivotal role in consolidating national unity and achieving economic and social growth for the country. It also contributed to strengthening cooperation and integration between the seven emirates, and preserving the nation’s gains, security and stability in the face of challenges.

An era passed under the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, “may God have mercy on him”, with successive challenges and successes, which paved the way for a new historical era led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him”, in which the UAE embarks on an unprecedented qualitative phase of Togetherness and determination to enhance the state’s position and sustain its progress, going beyond the stage of defending the borders of the homeland, to the effective contribution to humanitarian operations and international cooperation to ensure global peace and security, and we are now proud of the extent of modern technologies and the advanced national military industry, and the management of the most advanced and powerful weapon systems, in order to build national cadres Efficient and capable of protecting the country and raising it, which made the UAE a unified force to be reckoned with on the regional and international arenas.

On the anniversary of this glorious day, we extend our greetings of appreciation and admiration to the mothers and families of our righteous martyrs, and we affirm that we have not and will not forget their pure sacrifices. The United Arab Emirates, and in support of brothers and friends, may God protect our homeland and its loyal sons, and perpetuate the blessing of security, progress and prosperity for us.
